My Blunt Existence

The rhythm of my hand goes well with the drops of ink and with words floating in my brain. I do not have highfalutin words to speak of, instead, the way of my emotions and the labyrinth that my soul’s going through are the ones obliging me to put the significance of other’s life into scriptures.

Seven Money Saving Motivation

No one says no to a bulkier bank account, so say a big “hello!” to our list of money saving motivations. In the current economic climate many of us are feeling the pinch, so here are seven handy ways to boost your bank account:

Effect of Growing Population

I'm not an economist, so my knowledge on the effects of high population growth on economic development is solely based from the research I have done, and it clearly oppose the government's stand.

World Peace. Anyone?

Generally war is the result of a national entity wishing to improve the standard of living for its people. A major second cause is when a nation perceives a possible reduction in a current standard of living and fights to protect what it already has.

On My Way Back

They say, the only permanent thing in life is change. I have learned to cope with the changes. I have realize that I have to change in these changing times. But change does not mean that I have to change what I do or drop what I have. Change don't make me give-up my dreams. I just need to change my way. Can I be the best? Can I be a winner?

Reaching Your Goal

Are you forever trying to accomplish things but never seeming to get them done? You know you should set some goals but you don't know how to get started? Here is an easy way for you to set goals. Each step is represented by a letter forms the word GOALS.

The GET Step

Decide what it is you want to get
Do you want to get a new car? A degree? Better at something? Do you want to get away from it all on a vacation?

Decide what it is you want to get and write it down
Make a list of all the things you'd like to do and be, a list of all the places you want to go, and the things you want to accomplish.

The ORGANIZE Step

Organize your plan.
First develop a plan by listing every step that it will take to get you what you want. One easy way of doing this is to imagine yourself as having already attained your goal. Then “look back” and make note of all the steps it took you to get there. Don't worry about the order yet; just list as many steps as you can think of.

Organize your plan by prioritizing your list.
Make a list of the order that will best accomplish your goal. For instance, if your goal is to get to abroad you would need to plan the dates before you make hotel reservations. You would need to have a plan for saving the money before you booked your plane.
If some of the items on your list look overwhelming, break them down into smaller pieces. If you want to write a book, break it down. Start with the table of contents. Write a chapter a month. Write four pages per day. Make each task manageable.

The ACTION Step

Take some action every day to move you toward your goals.
Every week write down the three or four things that are most important to do to move you toward your goals and plan when to do them. Then do them.
I often use my Weekly Prioritizing worksheet. You can too. Write down your top three priorities for the week. Next, list three actions you need to take this week to honor these priorities. The next step is the most important—list the possible distractions you will encounter and how you will eliminate them.
For instance, if one of my priorities were to get my first book published, I would write “book” as one of my priorities. I would then list, “write chapter four before work on Tuesday.” Now, what could distract me? How will I eliminate those distractions?
By looking ahead and preventing possible distractions before they occur, or by having a secondary plan just in case “plan a” doesn't work, I will get those things done one way or another.

The LIST Step

Make lists as you go.
List what you want. List how to get there. List the obstacles that might get in your way. List how to overcome them. List your action steps. By writing things down, you form a commitment to get them done.

The SUCCESS Step

Enjoy your success each time you accomplish part or all of a goal.
Each small success will boost your confidence and give you the motivation to go on and finish something else.

Don't Be Too Hard On Yourself

Most of us are subject to guilt feelings. We may be spending so much time feeling guilty everyday. Guilt for the most part is very constructive. It's an important civilizing influence that keeps people from hurting, distressing or disappointing others. However, the system that works for good can also malfunction.

If your guilt feelings don't lessen after you've tried to make amends, or if you are feeling guilty for things you can't control, you're probably suffering from false guilt, which can be self-destructive. This unrelieved guilt can be very stressful. It is that lurching stomach and racing heart you feel when, for instance, you recall the time you insulted your grandmother. That stress can weaken your immune system and make you more susceptible to illness.

So how can you free yourself from guilt?

Compare guilt to pain. Pain tells you something is wrong. When you feel it, you don't just sit there --- you do something about it. The same is true for guilt.

If you're feeling guilty, here's what you can do about it:

1. Make amends
2. Learn from your mistakes.
3. Accept limitations
4. Disable guilt buttons
5. Banish ghosts
6. Count your blessings
7. Forgive yourself

One Restful Night And a Happy Dream

Nowadays, very few individuals can claim that they have experienced a good night’s sleep, but what if, one had? Plus a bonus of a happy dream that made one feel contented and blissful the day after the dream took place. Few would lay claim to that experience, given the fact that most of us feel a bit groggy and our body still ached when we wake up in the morning.
I was given the rare chance a week ago to experience such a dream. In my dream, I was in my teens, looking at a bus load of happy faces, sharing happy chatter with people close to me, the sun slowly rising, a teacher telling us some points to ponder while on the road.
It was a simple dream without an ending, but the happy feeling stayed until I was fully awake and some of it still  lingered till now.
I am not a spiritual person, may life  has been always peppered by many trivialities and at times catastrophic experiences of betrayals, putdowns, unfinished promises (vis-avis), financial meltdowns, family squabbles, melodramatic exchanges from people that mattered most and its crowning glory the day to day stresses of work load and deadlines.
“How can anyone get a restful night’s sleep?” one would ask.
I was thinking that, maybe someone up there gave me a reprieve, a breather of sorts. Maybe, a part of my being has been carrying a heavy load for a long time and it was at that moment, some of it was lifted up.
Faith has not been one of my more stronger points, I have never been a regular mosque-goer, I am not performing the five obligatory prayer each day. But I do believe to Allah and in many things that was doubted by most people.

I am thankful that I was blessed with one restful night and a happy dream, even though I just recognized just one face, and the happy youthful laughter, it was one memorable experience of hope.

Hello? Hey, I'm Invisible

A funny thing happened on the way to the communications revolution: we stopped talking to one another. The landlines and mobile phones used to connect you to the absent. Now it makes people sitting next to you feel absent. Why is it that the more connected we get, the more disconnected I feel?
Every advance in communications technology is a setback to the intimacy of human interaction. As almost every conceivable contact between human beings gets automated, the alienation index goes up. You can't even call a person to get someone's phone number. Directory assistance is becoming increasingly automated. I am no Luddite. I own a mobile phone, a voice-mail system, an answering machine, an e-mail, website, blog, and an account to almost all social network. Giving them up isn't an option. They're great for what they're intended to do. It's their unintended consequences that make me cringe. My day won't even be complete without logging in to facebook. More and more, I find myself hiding behind e-mail and the phone to do a job meant for conversation. I am also using the web for a presentation to our clients instead of doing it personally.
If all this technology is meant to help us to keep in touch, why is it that it only makes me lonelier? Should I put myself on technology restriction them?
